Watched the game over at Nikki's. Won a hat, beer stein, $50. They provided a buffet(free) that include several 6 foot subs, tons of chili, hot dogs, veggies, fruit,mini pitas stuffed with devilled ham, lots of excellent egg salad sandwiches, and several shrimp rings, 4 or 5, all for free. Prizes included a great bar fridge, a unique Football sofa chair, many coolers, tons of hats and shirts, a couple of excellent coats/jackets. No wonder the place is packed for all major events.

Somewhere around the mid 90's, the Sports Bar at the Senator (don't know if it was Nikki's then).. had a draw for two Super Bowl Tickets, which included hotel, travel etc. Probably sponsored by Molsons. The game was played in New Orleans that year - can't remember which teams were playing..
Anyway my kid brother won the tickets. Needless to say he was thrilled!!! The deal was, a car would drive them to Sudbury a few days before the game and they would catch a flight out of there.
A day or two before they were to leave, we got hit by a HUGE storm....and it didn't stop. The car was cancelled, the highway was closed and flights out of Sudbury were cancelled. If I remember correctly, they had to take that particular flight - even a later flight wouldn't let them make their connections. Needless to say they didn't make the Super Bowl. I think there were compensations........ official jerseys and hats from the NFL team of your choice and some money. But two very disappointed men.
I threw the Super Bowl party that year. As the two of them watched it... they jokingly said...'see those two empty seats in the stadium......that's where we should be!!" It was a fun party and a good time - But...........

Molson provided a large helmet shaped chair and a lot of small coolers, hats,beer glasses etc. but Nikki went out and bought a large bar fridge that she had decorated with a SuperBowl/Nikki's decal. Ken wasn't at Nikki's last night, probably at the real superbowl but he missed a heck of a bash.
