Post by Head Honcho » Fri Jul 14, 2017 8:39 am

City of Timmins wishes to advise residents that the next phase of the Connecting Link reconstruction project will be starting on Monday, July 17th, 2017.

Lane Closures will be in effect as follows:

The Highway 101 eastbound lanes will be closed from the bottom of Rae Hill to Tisdale Cemetery starting on Monday, July 17 for excavation work and paving operations. One lane of traffic in each direction will be provided in the westbound lanes. Lane closure and advance warning signs will be posted.

Motorists are urged to slow down through the construction zone and observe the advisory maximum 60 km/h speed signs.

Advisory signs? So does that mean just are just "advising" you to go 60 km/h? They'll go through at the normal 17 above, especially the mining trucks. Don't miss those asshats on the roadway.

I thought all speed limit signs in Timmins were just suggestions.

No. The cops just choose to not enforce it. Same down here. Although our drivers tend to be more colour-blind and ultra-aggressive.
