There's a huge population of these Sandhill Cranes near Smooth Rock Falls when heading up along the Fraserdale highway. They look so prehistoric when they take flight. These are amazing birds to watch and photograph.

I've seen them in the region from time to time. Very cool birds. I also saw them in Florida when I was there in March.
