Winter 2017-18

#1',this.href); return false;">##1 Post #1 by DenBen » Sat Oct 28, 2017 8:40 am

Well, I thought I'd start a new thread to discuss the weather in the Fall of 2017 and the Winter of 2017/18.

I noticed looking at the city webcams this morning, Timmins is white. I laughed a bit, I admit...[whistle

We had wet flurries mixed in some showers scattered through the county down here, that's it. We are going for single-digit highs for the coming week. It's a couple degrees lower than the average temp but considering how warm the rest of October was we can't complain.

Has Timmins had any snow at all before last night? Dustings? I remember seeing snow before Halloween for a few years during our 15 years there. [think

Any predictions for the upcoming 6 months?

Oops. I forgot about HH's post from last week. You have had a dusting.

Our leaves are just starting to fall now, which is late. How are the leaves up there?

The leaves were quite late falling for Timmins as well. I remember on Thanksgiving weekend the leaves were at their peak for colour but not much had fallen at that point. It appears that the leaves are all gone now for trees in the bush but some trees in peoples' yards still have leaves which I don't remember seeing this late in Timmins.

The tamaracks in the bush were quite a bright yellow about a week ago but have become more dull and should lost their needles this week.

Wow.

8C here still, the cold front hasn't moved through yet but probably will in the next hour, maybe two.

Our main streets are already being salted. Wow. [shocked
