Getting back on topic. Having cameras will help the city when it comes to liability claims and also for insurance reasons.

Will they be facing the road AND inside the bus (2 cams)?

I follow those city meetings usually pretty good and I don't ever remember them approving cameras on transit buses or let alone talk about it. I know Sudbury was going for it because of all the assaults that bus drivers were taking.

Do they need approval from council? If they have their own budget and it is coming from there, then I would think they don't need it.

I was probably in with their depts. budget.

They will need multiple cameras to monitor all sides of the bus, front and rear, inside, one on the roof to monitor falling debris and a few so riders can see where they are.

Not sure but I'm thinking it's not just a few things at Walmart that they need for this venture. Your talking about thousands of dollars.
