Bad Driver Report

#1

Post by Loco101 » Mon May 03, 2010 12:12 pm

Okay, I need your help.

I want to report a bad driver who was driving a business pick-up truck. The name on it was Morin but I can't remember if the business name was something like Morin Excavation or Morin Bricklaying. It had to do with construction for sure. Does anybody know the name?

The reason:

On Saturday at about 6:30pm, I was driving on Airport Road and turned right onto Theriault. The speed limit is 40 and I think I was driving almost 50. This truck behind me thought I was driving too slow and pulled to the right in and was going to pass me. The only problem is that the right lane ends at the turn-off to Timmins High. Well this truck had little room and pulled in and cut me off, almost hitting me and then took off going at least 70 and possibly faster! I saw the business name on the truck and it started with "Morin" and I think the second word had something to do with construction.

I don't think it was either of those. It seemed like it was a local business. Probably just an independent guy. I think it was a white pickup truck...memory is fading. The lettering on the truck looked as though it wasn't part of a very big business.

When you make the report, they really want the license number, make and colour of the vehicle and description of the driver if possible as well as time and date of occurence. Haven't heard if they actually did anything with a complaint as they can only really send an official letter of warning on the first complaint.

People here really seem to have road rage. I see stuff like this all the time. I just shake my head, and hope there's a cop around to see it. I would not mind seeing someone like that get into an accident either. Not life threatening or anything, but just enough to give a wakeup call. Preferably something funny like running into a fire hydrant.

A few months ago some road rage guy in a blue company truck side swiped me and took out my headlight and kept going. Reported, but did not get enough time to get info so not much they could do. Was some kind of mechanical company, metallic blue truck, think it was a Dodge Ram. He did an illegal right turn from a middle lane coming out of Wendy's trying to beat oncoming traffic, I was in the right lane waiting to do a right.

On a per capita basis, Timmins is definitely worse for bad driving.
Wasn't Morin's campground. I know it was a business that had something to do with bricklaying, landscaping.

I have been quoted insurance rates for different cities in Ontario. I once asked and was told that Timmins is the most expensive. I have family who have lived in North Bay, Toronto, Ottawa, London, Waterloo and said that insurance costs more in Timmins. There is a reason for that, the drivers!

I'm not letting this Morin business go. I'm sure I'll see that truck again and I'm going to call them and let them know how upset I am.

Was it Morin Interlocking? I just left the office for a quick walk...and saw the driver of a beat up purple/blue Chevy truck with "Morin Interlocking" painted on the doors and tailgate squeal his tires as he left the parking lot on Third Avenue.

I see that truck around quite often. I'll make an effort to remember the license plate information next time I see it.

Yes, Morin Interlocking is absolutely correct!! Thanks!

Somebody else sent me a PM telling me that as well.

My wife is better at remembering colours and she thought the truck was navy blue so that is definitely the truck.

I'm not surprised that he squealed his tires. (assuming it was the same driver) We could have been badly hurt by his stupid driving. I also wanted to warn everybody.

I should do like Stephen Colbert and put him on notice! Maybe that should be a thread we should start...a notice board. Well I'll be the first do to it.

How can a somebody driving a truck with a business name on it act that way! I'm telling people about the incident and it won't be good for his business.

Maybe he'll search and find out what's being said here. I'm very concerned for the safety of others due to his bad driving.

Now let's see if anyone can get a good photo of the truck! Burnsie?
