Thanks for the photos of the Old Timmins Arena, Riskynet. Where did you get them? The exterior photo must have been taken shortly after it was built . The interior picture shows the upper level for the spectators, which I think was very unique. Looks like the hockey team was a church sponsored one with the priest in there and the name of the team. I remember there was a team at one time that was sponsored by the Sacred Heart Church on Cedar St. too.

Would love to see some more old photos if you have them . I grew up in Moneta but left in 1953.

Wasn't the arena where the Miron-Wilson funeral home is today? I remember there was an A&P store in that location that burned down as well in the early 1980s.



There was a Mike's grocery store where the current post office is that closed in the early 1990s.

No Loco, way before the Mike's grocery store was the Timmins Arena which stood where the now post office.
