City Hall Idiocy

Post #1 by janisjuris » Mon May 31, 2010 6:14 pm

To start off the folly at city hall tonite, council was advised that the long awaited report from the consultants preparing the Parking Review and Report would not be getting it tonite as previously announced because the AQmerican Consultant was refused access to Canada at the border because he did not have a proper visa/work permit. That wouldn't have happenned if they had used a Canadian Firm.

Saudino is now going on at length complaining about cats running around and peeing on his windows. They will also be talking about the $250,000 for the consultant that will be looking at alternative uses for Xstrata's Met Site. More money down the drain, maybe it will wash away the cat urine and make Saudino happy!

Pussy Pee! I wonder if he has a daughter? The council will also be apparently giving away a heck of a lot of land to Goldcorp. (No price is mentioned at all)

"We need to hold their feet to the fire as well"

A quote from His Worship Mayor Tom Laughren discussing Xstrata's offer to assist Timmins with the feasibility study for alternate uses of the Met Site.

Now that is really a comment showing that the City wants to co-operate. If I were a shareholder of Xstrata, I would demand an immediate closure and demolition and would stop any and all contributions to community charities.

The next item on the agenda talks to the revised official plan. Part of the discussions involves letters from two local Native groups, one of which is advising that they want to open a new Reserve at Mallette Road and Hwy 101. Maybe they can set a casino up there. Bamford seems to be the only one that read the letter and seems concerned.
