Might move to Timmins!

#1',this.href); return false;">##1 Post #1 by fyfeshire » Tue Jul 30, 2013 7:26 pm

I have a job interview tomorrow and I'm confident I what it takes for the job. I live in Southern Ontario right now and I would like a lifestyle change Timmins has to offer; however, I have been told by some people that the drinking water (tap water) is of bad quality (people getting sick from the water, bad for health, etc.). I have done some research on the town's website and nothing suggests a problem with the water quality. I think my source may have been mislead by the discovery of the pre-historic water in the mines.

Can anyone shed some light as to whether the water quality is bad or any different from anywhere else in Ontario?

thank you,

The water is probably better than what you are drinking in Southern Ontario. We have some of the safest water in the province as do most ontario municipalities since the Walkerton water problems of years ago.

What type of job are you applying for?

I agree that the water is good.

Our water used to taste great until they boosted the level of chlorine about 10 years ago. But it's safe for sure.

Water should have no taste.

Wot? 4x4 required?

As a kid in the 1940s, I remember that most of the now paved roads were dirt, with ditches each side and no sidewalks. And no 4x4s then except for ex-military stuff.
