Police investigating early morning robbery

Post #1 by Head Honcho » Tue Apr 03, 2018 10:39 am

At approximately 12:30 this morning, April 3, 2018, Timmins Police officers responded to a
robbery at Mac’s Convenience store in Schumacher.

Initial reports indicate that a female suspect entered the store brandishing a weapon and
demanded money from the cash register. An undisclosed amount of Canadian currency was
taken and the suspect fled from the store.

Fortunately no injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian female, wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt with
“BAUER” on the front. She was wearing large black sunglasses, a hood, and black pants.

The Timmins Police Service thanks the Ontario Provincial Police’s Canine Unit who attended
the scene and completed a track.

The investigation continues by members of the Criminal Investigations Unit. Anyone having any
information regarding this incident is asked to call the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.

That store has been robbed so many times over the years. I remember it happening often enough back when it was a Pinto store.

Today, with so many debit/credit transactions, the amount in the cash register is probably nothing great.

Where are the robbers supposed to go now with the closing of the Macs in the Westmount area?

If they are Mac's fans, there is one on Victoria and McLean Drive.
